Day 47: The Best Brats in Bayreuth (8/28/2010)

My alarm went off at 9am and I got up to have a video chat with Scott. I worked on the blog at same time until 11:30am. He stays up too late because of me, and doesn’t get enough sleep. I feel bad about that, but I’m too selfish to cut him off and he never wants to go to bed either.

At noon we all went to town. Dad and Baerbel went to buy plants at the Hagbaumarkt, and Davin, Jona, and I wanted to get Bratwurst at the “Best bratwurst stand in Bayreuth” (according to Jona). So, Dad and Baerbel took Dad’s car, and I followed them in Baerbel’s car with Jona and Davin. Dad led us to the parking lot closest to the Bratwurst stand, and then continued on to do his errand.

It was fun to drive to the city and walk around. It was a rare (lately) sunny day. We each got a pair of brats (Davin got two pairs!) for 2 Euros a pair. It really was the best Bratwurst I’ve ever had. Jonathan has good taste in food.

On the way home we stopped at the Media Markt to buy an RCA cable to connect the PS3 to the receiver. We wanted to make it so that Dad could play music from Youtube on his main speakers. We went home and worked on hooking up the TV. Then we found out we had forgotten to buy a part we needed, and bought one thing that we didn’t need. Dad and Baerbel made it home shortly after we did, and they wanted us to wait until Monday to go back to Media Markt.

Jona, Davin, and I then went downstairs and played Mass Effect 2. Around 5:30pm, I stopped and went upstairs to help Dad make pasties. After I popped them in the over, I went back to playing ME2. An hour and a half later, we all ate our pasties. Delicious!! Then we went back downstairs and played ME2 some more. At 9pm, we went upstairs and the whole family looked at pictures from our trip to Slovenia on the TV. Then I quickly wrote bullet point entries for the updates I’ve gotten behind one, and went to bed around midnight.

  1. Do you realize you're obsessed with food? Every entry has something about food. :) You should be fat.

  2. YES! I love food, and am ALWAYS taking pictures of it and it is the first thing that pops into my head when someone asks me what I liked best about traveling somewhere. I could go on and on and on about the food and the cake. YUUUM! I think I stay thin cause I have a fat phobia and a weird neurosis about eating the last bites! Lol. ;p
