Day 55: A Relaxing Day & Train Ride Home (9/5/2010)

I woke up at 11am today. Lissy had already gotten up to eat breakfast (her diet requires her to eat breakfast before 11am, and dinner before 9pm). I had an english muffin with honey for breakfast, and checked my email. Then I chatted with Lissy, and she shared some of her music with me. Then we looked at my blog because she hadn’t seen any of the pictures yet. It made me realize there are still a lot of entries I need to fix!!


Then we watched the movie The Notebook, because Lissy said it’s the best romance movie she’s ever seen. It IS really quite good. The story and acting are all top notch. I was surprised I had never heard of the movie before. Mid movie we took a break for lunch, and ended up chatting with Maja again. Finally, we finished the movie.


Then I packed up and made some snacks for my train ride. At 6:15pm, we left to catch the train to the Hauptbahnhof. It was a perfect plan. Unfortunately, the city train at the location near Lissy’s house was out of service, and it hadn’t mentioned that on the website’s travel planner. So our leisurely trip to the Train Station became more hectic. We ran down the street to the bus stop. There we caught the 6:44pm bus to the Hauptbahnhof. We arrived at 6:48pm. That left me 5 minutes to catch my train. I made it with plenty of time.

On the train, I wrote all the recent bulletpoint updates into full entries. When the conductor checked my ticket he kindly pointed out that I was on the half of the train that ended in Hof, and so I needed to move to one of the cars further forward. I was happy that I had an entire brief conversation in German and understood all of it. *Happy Dance* ;p At one of the next stops, I moved to the next car which is going all the way to Nuernberg. There I resumed work on the updates. Then I watched one Star Trek: Voyager which ended just a few minutes before my stop.

Dad, Baerbel, and Davin picked me up from the train station at 10:30pm. They had gone to Adria for dinner and brought me a pizza for dinner. We returned home and I ate my dinner. Then I putzed around on my computer for awhile, and went to bed at 12:30am.
