Day 27: Mass Effect 2, Flat Top Mountain, Oldtimers and Dad's Return (8/8/2010)

I woke up at 9am and texted Scott til late (for him) again. After he went to bed, I quickly uploaded yesterday’s pictures and blog entry. Then I started playing my new computer game: Mass Effect 2. It didn’t take long before I was completely hooked. I loved the first one, and so far Mass Effect 2 is even better!

Davin and Jona woke up late as usual. Davin kept bugging me to bring my computer back downstairs. (I had it set up on the dining room table, because I can’t play in the computer room while Davin is sleeping there.) I was too addicted to take the time to quit out of ME2 to move my computer back downstairs.

I ate a ham and cheese sandwich for lunch (while still playing of course!). Around 2pm, Baerbel dragged all of us out of th house to get some fresh air. We went to the nearby Flat Top Mountain. I was actually pretty excited to go there, because I have a childhood memory of running across the “flat”, grassy top, and then falling on my face after I stepped on uneven ground! So much for being flat. :)

Davin, Jonathan, and I played frisbee on Flat Top Mountain for awhile, while Baerbel lay down to relax. However, it wasn’t long before the sun disappeared, and we were suddenly threatened by storm clouds. We made a strategic retreat to the car. On the way home, we stopped to view a meeting of classic cars. In Germany, they refer to them as ‘Oldtimers’. There were some very nice vehicles on display. We especially liked the BMW Isetta. It looked like a clown car, especially with Davin standing right next to it!

Back at the house, Davin, Baerbel, and I had tea and cake. Then I played ME2 again. Davin cleaned his keyboard and took some creative pictures of it. (Can you find the hidden messages?) Then he worked on making a spreadsheet of all our trip expenses so far. He complained I wasn’t helping, so I quit ME2 and helped him finish that up. Then we had dinner. Baerbel made a delicious Wok dish over rice.

After dinner, I played a little more ME2. Then Davin, Jonathan, and I played Borderlands. Around 11pm, Dad got home from his trip to Korea. The three of us went up to say ‘hi’. He said, “Don’t talk to me, go away” (with a smile, of course) and went to bed! ;p We returned to Borderlands, and played until 12:15am. Poor Davin’s game didn’t save again! He gave us his weapons and had to run through the storyline all over again. At least he didn’t lose his guns this time though. For my last act of the day, I texted Scott and my cousin Lissy until 1am, and then I went to bed.

  2. Yea, Escape Fate, and Ctrl, Alt, Del. D is Davin's signature or sorts. So you got it :)
