Davin and I woke up at noon old time (11am ship time). We are going to use the time changes to our advantage. By staying on European time, we are slowly getting on a good schedule for Florida. We plan to stay on European time until we are several hours off of real time. In this way, we can also make the ships breakfast last later, and dinner too. It’s a little confusing. Essentially, by staying on our current schedule, we will automatically be getting up earlier, but since our time isn’t really changing, it seems like everything else is getting later (not that we are getting earlier). Anyway, that’s the plan.
We missed breakfast today (but we are hopeful that the time change will enable us to get to breakfast tomorrow). Instead we grabbed some plates and silverware and ate the pancakes we had made in Britain. Davin tried to heat them using the hair dryer in the bathroom. He succeeded in making them room temperature. At least they weren’t cold, and they were still delicious! We watched a Voyager while we ate.
After breakfast, I played ME2 until I beat it. Davin took a really long shower. The ship is back to rocking and rolling. It was really bad last night. You could really feel your body being pulled this way and that by gravity. Now that I have sea sickness medicine, I find the movement amusing. It’s kind of like being in a giant crib. I’m definitely getting used to it. The captain says that we can expect the swells to get smaller starting tomorrow. The more south we go, the better the weather will be. Or so he says. Davin hopes he is right. I don’t think he likes the rolling very much. I was amused that today there were barf bags hanging from the staircase at every level! There were fewer and fewer bags hanging there as the day went on...
One thing I don’t like doing while the ship is moving so much is showering! When Davin got out, I took my turn. It’s no big deal though, I just take as quick a shower as possible. After my shower, I worked on my Bunnies and Burrows RPG. I’ve finished making the maps for one level, and now just have text to write about it. It’s fun to work on, and I think it will be fun to play.
At 10pm (9pm ship time), we went to dinner. I wasn’t really hungry yet. Our lunch wasn’t all that long ago, and, since we are only sitting around, I don’t need very many calories each day. For lunch, I had schnitzel and pommes. It was pretty good. For dinner, I had split pea soup and a Chinese vegetable stirfry.
Back in the room, I wrote updates for yesterday and today. Then Davin and I watched a Voyager, and went to bed at 12:30pm (11:30pm ship time).
